In our 2018 issue of HealthLinks Charleston that focused on KIDS HEALTH and featured our partnership with the local restaurant gogogreens we teamed up to offer our readers foods & recipes that focus on healthy eating for kids.
HealthLinks Charleston and gogogreens have consulted with community physicians and medical professionals to create recipes good for the mind, body and soul.
Almond Butter Banana Pinwheels Recipe
1 large whole wheat tortilla
¼ cup almond butter or peanut butter
1 tbsp. granola
1 banana, peeled
2 tbsp. fruit yogurt, optional as pinwheel dip
Directions: (Yields 6 pieces)
1. On flat surface, spread almond butter evenly on tortilla
2. Sprinkle evenly with granola
3. Place banana in center of tortilla
4. Roll tortilla
5. Cut in half, and cut each half into thirds
Popcorn Trail Mix Recipe
1 cup popped corn
2 tbs shelled nuts (pistachios, almonds, walnuts, etc.)
1 tbsp. dried cherries, cranberries, blueberries or raisins
Directions: (Yields 2 servings)
Mix ingredients together in a bowl and enjoy!
