Welcome to the premier event of 2020 — The Charleston Health & Wellness Expo. In its third year, this event is the cornerstone of an industry that is growing exponentially, with no sign of letting up.

When members of the medical community want to hobnob with each other and develop relationships, they look no further than the Holy City. New people and new businesses arrive in Charleston every day. “Chuck Town,” as it is affectionately called by locals, has become the epicenter of medicine in the Southeast.

The Expo, sponsored by HealthLinks and the Medical University of South Carolina, is happening on Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be held at the Omar Shrine Temple on Patriots Point Road in Mount Pleasant, one of the fastest-growing cities of its size in the United States. HealthLinks and MUSC have maintained a strong relationship since the publication was established.

“This is our third straight year of hosting the Expo, and I’m still getting calls and emails thanking me for our first,” exclaimed HealthLinks Publisher Cullen Murray-Kemp. “We recognize the need for an expo with a global perspective so that businesses can interact with each other and develop strategic partnerships for years to come.”

The event is not all about business. Every possible facet of health and wellness will be covered. From pediatrics to geriatrics and from yoga to surgical robotics, this will be something you won’t want to miss. Food and entertainment will also be part of the agenda.

Katie Crosby, marketing director with Charleston Allergy and Asthma, participated in the first ever Health & Wellness Expo and will be back this year for the third annual event.

“The Expo is a wonderful way to interact with the community and to learn and share about everyone’s unique health needs,” Crosby explained. “We love that we’re able to educate the Lowcountry on how we can help them find relief from their allergies and asthma symptoms.”
